Britta has been working in the field of intellectual property for over 18 years. She has a background in engineering and is a lawyer and patent attorney. Britta specialises in intellectual property relating to mechanical, electronic and design technologies particularly.
With her strong background in industry, Britta provides real-life, practical solutions for clients’ intellectual property interests. Using these skills, Britta has assisted clients to protect and commercialise their intellectual property at home and throughout the world.
Because she knows the ins and outs of the R&D process and the role that intellectual property can hold within various entities, Britta helps clients achieve success by actively working alongside them to tailor intellectual property strategies specific to their business needs.
Britta’s passion for intellectual property sees her as a regular guest speaker on intellectual property topics at tertiary education centres and business environs.
Following her interest in intellectual property commercialisation, Britta is a member of the Licensing and Executives Society of Australia and New Zealand (LESANZ) and the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI), in which she keeps overseas attorneys abreast of developments in New Zealand design law. She is also on the Council of the New Zealand Institute of Patent Attorneys.
