David is an intellectual property lawyer and patent attorney specialising in chemical and biotechnological innovations, with a particular interest in food science, advanced materials and agrichemicals. He is passionate about working with clients to identify their intellectual property, strategically protect their vital interests and grow their business. He advises start-ups, research institutions and multinational companies with clarity and commercial relevance.
Prior to starting a career in intellectual property, David graduated with a MSc(Hons) in chemistry from Victoria University of Wellington, and had a short scholarship at the Australian National University. He also previously worked as an Associate at another large New Zealand patent attorney firm.
Outside of work, David enjoys spending his time with his family, hacking a ball around the golf course and diving around Wellington’s coastline.
