David is a lawyer and Trans-Tasman patent attorney with over a decade of experience helping clients protect and enforce their intellectual property around the world. He assists innovators, start-ups, research institutions, and established companies to build strong IP portfolios and navigate complex IP challenges.

With a technical focus in chemistry, advanced materials, nanotechnology, food technology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and microfluidics, David specialises in translating sophisticated science into clear, commercially valuable IP rights. His practice covers the full spectrum of services, including patent drafting and prosecution, registered designs, infringement risk mitigation, enforcement, and strategic portfolio management. He has extensive experience managing patent applications in Australia and New Zealand as well as across major jurisdictions including the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Alongside his legal practice, David is an Adjunct Lecturer at Victoria University of Wellington, where he teaches postgraduate courses in patent law within the Master of Laws (LLM) programme.
